To better understand the psychosociological approach that guides the field of social representations, the theory of dialogicity of Ivana Marková, a researcher and emeritus professor at the University of Stirlingnas, in the United Kingdom, predicts the existence of a triangle between the self(ego), the other (alter) and the object. These would be inseparable and dynamic, maker of a knowledge structure in society, and the human mind being able to process and communicate the dialogue between the three instances, thus creating social realities.

Figure based on Marková’s book (2003) – “Dialogicity and Social Representations”.
